[DOWNLOAD]: Harvey Stripes ft. Jay Vado - Material Girl

Harvey Stripes has revealed his latest single, and first international release, Material Girl. The track, which features up-and-coming R&B singer Jay Vado, is the fourth single from Harvey this year. It showcases a toned-down version of the rapper's unique sound with a radio-friendly and sing-a-long hook from Vado. Toronto-based producer Beat Merchant, whose accomplishments range from Juno Award and Much Music Award winning hits, produced Material Girl.

Touching on a topic to which many men and women can relate materialism Harvey takes listeners through the question of whether his material girl loves him more than she loves the Gucci, Louis Vuitton and dead presidents. He also says the song promotes a female who is independent, appreciates the finer things in life, but can still rely on her man.

"It's just exploring the mind state of a materialistic girl," Stripes explained of Material Girl. "The concept is really a 2010 version of the 'ashy to classy' story."
The single is being pushed on radio nationally and internationally. Harvey Stripes will continue the glamorous theme when he releases the video for Material Girl in early 2010. The video, which has already been shot and was directed by director Sharpshooter, will be circulated to all TV music channels, as well as blogs and online avenues.

In the past 8 months Harvey Stripes has taken the mainstream Canadian hip-hop scene by storm, releasing single after single at a surprising rate. The two most recent releases were a street track called PAID, featuring Harlem rapper Max B and Shawty Got That featuring Warner Bros. recording artist Jason Derulo. Harvey is continuing to record and gather material for an upcoming album.
