Adam Yauch of The Beastie Boys Passes Away

Adam Yauch AKA MCA, a co-founder hip-hop pioneer trio The Beastie Boys, has passed away tragically at the age of 47. His death comes after a three year battle with cancer. Known not only for his incredible work as a musician, Yauch directed many of The Beastie Boys’ music videos under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hornblower, as well as for his video collective Oscilloscope Pictures, which had notable releases that included Gunnin’ for that #1 Spot, We Need to Talk About Kevin and the upcoming LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits. Not only has hip-hop lost a legend but the world has lost a special person. May Adam rest in paradise.
