Not only is the Automotive Skeleton model, a part of Ralph Lauren's 2015 automotive collection, it is also the brand's first open-worked timepiece. Inspired by Ralph Lauren’s own 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe, it boasts amboyna burl wood bezels, elm burl wood dials and black alligator straps reflecting the rich car interior, and the Arabic numerals inspired by the car’s iconic gauges. Encased by a shot-blasted, gunmetal steel 44.8mm case, the watch is powered by a custom IWC hand-wound caliber RL1967 running at 18,000 vibrations per hour, alongside a 45-hour power reserve. The mechanical movement itself is visible through a smoky sapphire crystal case-back. Pricing has not yet been announced.
